Characteristics of Computers:-

     Computer have the following characteristics, depending on their type and use:

कंप्यूटर में निम्नलिखित विशेषताएं हैं, जो उनके प्रकार और उपयोग पर निर्भर करता है:

a.   Speed:-

          Computers can carry out instructions in less than a millionth of a second. As you know computer can work very fast. Computer is a very fast calculating device. Its speed is measured in terms of nanosecond and pico seconds.

           कंप्यूटर की गति(स्पीड)इसकी मुख्य विशेषताओं में से एक है। कंप्यूटर के काम करने की स्पीड काफी तेज होती है। कंप्यूटर इंसानो की तुलना में बहुत तेजी से कार्यो को करते है।यह एक सेकंड में एक लाख से भी ज्यादा कार्यों को पूरा कर सकते है।

            Computer की Speed को MIPS (Million of Instructions per Second) में मापा जाता है।

b.   Accuracy:-

          A computer works consistently with accuracy. If data and instructions supplied to a computer are correct then it surely will give accurate result. The errors in computer are due to human and inaccurate data.

               Computer की दूसरी सबसे बड़ी विशेषता Accuracy है।इसके द्वारा की जाने वाली प्रत्येक कैलकुलेशन 100% Correct होती है।कंप्यूटर बिना किसी गलती के अपने कार्यों को पूरा करता है। इंसानो की तुलना में कंप्यूटर अधिक सटीकता के साथ अपने काम को पूरा करता है।अगर कभी परिणाम में कोई त्रुटि पायी भी जाती है, तो उसका कारण यूजर के द्वारा फीड किया गया गलत इनपुट है।

c.    Diligence:-

            A computer can work for hours together and repeatedly without getting tired, bored and loosing concentration.

               एक कंप्यूटर बिना थके, ऊबे और खोई एकाग्रता के साथ घंटों और बार-बार काम कर सकता है

               कंप्यूटर बिना थके लगातार अपने कार्यो को पूरा करने में सक्षम होते है। हम मनुष्य किसी भी कार्य को लंबे समय तक नही कर सकते क्योंकि हमें कुछ समय बाद थकान और एकाग्रता की कमी महसूस होने लगती है। इसलिए बीच-बीच मे Break लेना हमारे लिये जरूरी हो जाता है।चूंकि Computer एक Machine है, इसलिए थकावट या बोरियत से इसका कोई लेना-देना नही होता जिस कारण ये दिन के 24 hours समान स्पीड और सटिकता के साथ कार्य कर सकता है

d.   Storage Capacity:-

        A computer can store a large amount of data and information in its primary and secondary memory.

                  स्टोरेज भी कंप्यूटर की मुख्य विशेषताओं में से एक है। इसका उपयोग जरुरी डेटा और जानकारी को स्टोर करने के लिए भी किया जाता है। कंप्यूटर में स्टोर की गई जानकारी हमेशा के लिए स्टोर रहती है। डेटा और जानकारी तब तक कंप्यूटर में स्टोर रहती है जब तक कोई यूजर उस जानकारी को डिलीट ना कर दे।आमतौर पर कम्प्यूटरों में डेटा संग्रहित करने के लिये SSD (Solid-state drive) और Hard Drive का उपयोग किया जाता है।एक Computer की Storage Capacity को Kilobytes (KB), Megabytes (MB), Gigabytes (GB), और Terabytes (TB) में मापा जाता है। 

e.    Versatility:-

              A computer can perform almost any kind of task that can be reduced to a series of logical steps. Computer perform multiple different tasks at the same time for e.g. playing music and drafting your document and even you can print a page.

               हम सभी जानते है, कि Computer विभिन्न प्रकार के कार्य कर सकता है। इसलिए इसे Versatile Machine कहा जाता है। अर्थात Computer का उपयोग विभिन्न क्षेत्रों से सम्बंधित समस्याओं को हल करने के लिए किया जा सकता है। उनका उपयोग स्कूलों, अस्पतालों, व्यवसायों, सरकारी संगठनों, रेलवे स्टेशनों, एयरपोर्ट और घरों में अलग-अलग उद्देश्यों के लिए जाता है।

f.      Automation:-

           Once a program execution starts, no human intervention is required till the program ends.

                कंप्यूटर एक स्वचालित मशीन (automatic machine) है। यह अपने कार्यो को खुद से करता है। जब कंप्यूटर किसी काम को शुरू करता है तो वह उस काम को खुद से ही पूरा कर लेता है। Computer किसी कार्य के संचालन के लिये पूरी तरह से users पर निर्भर नही होता है।

g.   Reliability 

                   कंप्यूटर पूरी तरह से विश्वसनीय (reliable) होते है। हम इंसानो की तुलना में कंप्यूटर अधिक विश्वसनीय होते है, यदि हम कंप्यूटर को एक ही इनपुट कई बार देते है तो कंप्यूटर हमे एक ही जैसे परिणाम दिखायेगा।यही कारण है कि आज बड़े-बड़े संगठन, संस्थान और कंपनियां अपने कार्यो के लिए Computer पर निर्भर है। इस पर भरोसे का मुख्य कारण ये है कि Computer अपने कार्यो को लगातार बिना किसी विफलता या त्रुटि के करता है। 

                Computers are completely reliable. Computers are more reliable than us humans, if we give the same input to the computer many times, the computer will show us the same results. This is the reason that today big organizations, institutions and companies rely on computers for their work. is dependent. The main reason for trusting it is that the computer performs its tasks continuously without any failure or error.

h.   No Intelligence 

              कंप्यूटर के पास सोचने समझने की शक्ति नहीं होती है जिस प्रकार मनुष्य सोच सकता है वैसे कंप्यूटर नही सोच सकता क्योंकि कंप्यूटर के पास मनुष्य के जैसा दिमाग नहीं होता है

                 Computers do not have the power to think and understand. Computers cannot think the way humans can because computers do not have a brain like humans.
