5. Proprietary Software:-

              Proprietary software also known as “closed-source software” is non-free computer software for which the software’s publisher or another person retains intellectual property rights- usually copyright of the source code, but sometimes patent rights.

              Proprietary software means the company that developed the software owns the software and no one may duplicate it or distribute it without that company’s permission. Users have to pay to the software company if they want to use the proprietary software.

                   Proprietary software वह सॉफ्टवेयर होता है जिसका इस्तेमाल हम free में नहीं कर सकते. इसका इस्तेमाल करने के लिए हमें इस सॉफ्टवेयर को इसके owner (मालिक) से खरीदना पड़ता हैProprietary software पर इसके owner का copyright होता है अर्थात हम इस सॉफ्टवेयर के code को ना तो बदल सकते है, ना ही distribute (वितरित) और copy कर सकते हैं. आसान शब्दो कहे तो यह एक ऐसा सॉफ्टवेयर है जिसे केवल वही व्यक्ति मॉडिफाई कर सकता है जिसने इस सॉफ्टवेयर को बनाया होगायह एक कंप्यूटर सॉफ्टवेयर है जिनके सोर्स कोड को सभी व्यक्ति नहीं देख सकते है। दुसरे शब्दो में कहे तो Proprietary software एक ऐसा सॉफ्टवेयर है जो copyrighted होते है

Example: macOS, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Windows, ms office, और photoshop आदि हैं।
